    DESCRIPTION
Collage builds art out of pre-made parts. Less time consuming than other media like painting or textiles, it is the perfect format for the development of general design skills, the rehearsal of ideas and the practice of improvisation in color and design.

In this new class, students will explore collage techniques that can include pre-painted color swatches, drawn or printed surface treatments or photographic and printed found material. Finished work can vary in size from very small to moderate or larger. Each student will be encouraged to pursue their own visual sensibility at their own pace with the goal of producing a body of work.

Classes meet from 9-5 from Monday to Friday for two weeks. Students will work in a supportive studio atmosphere with technical help, thoughtful discussion, and productive critique.

This class has been developed for the intermediate to advanced studio artist and welcomes quilt makers, painters, surface designers, illustrators, graphic designers: anyone who makes two-dimensional art.
